NewcastleSJPOur featured English Premier League match taking place on Saturday sees Newcastle host a Fulham side who have been banging in the goals recently

Newcastle

Despite taking a first half lead at home to AC Milan in their final UCL group match in midweek Newcastle eventually went down 2-1 and they finished bottom of the group and their European adventure is over for the season.

Focus switches back to the EPL and Newcastle's home form comprises of 7 wins and a solitary defeat to Liverpool early in the season. The last 3 home games delivered 1-0 wins over Arsenal and Manchester United either side of a 4-1 victory over Chelsea. Away form is holding Newcastle back and last time out they crashed 4-1 at Spurs and they finished the round in seventh spot, 7 points off a top 4 place.

Fulham

On the back of 3 wins in their last 4 matches Fulham have climbed into mid table with 21 points from 16 games. That sequence started with a 3-2 home win over Wolves, a 4-3 defeat at Liverpool and a pair of 5-0 hidings dished out in home fixtures against Forest and most recently West Ham.

In addition to the narrow loss at Liverpool other visits to top sides this season have seen Fulham draw 2-2 at Arsenal and they lost 5-1 at Manchester City early in the season. More recently they lost 2-0 at Spurs and 3-1 at Villa.

Recent Head to Head

This fixture finished 1-0 to Newcastle last season and when the teams met in London Newcastle romped to a 4-1 victory

The Betting

At the time of writing Newcastle are trading at 17/20 to win the game with the draw priced at 2.85/1 and Fulham can be backed at around 3/1

A game of 3 goals or more is priced at 7/10 and it's 0.67/1 for both teams to score

The Verdict:

Newcastle's home record in the EPL commands respect but they are tasked with bouncing back from the midweek defeat and a hiding at Spurs against an in form Fulham side who were a touch unfortunate to go down 4-3 at Liverpool last time they travelled.

I'm looking for decent prices for small stakes to satisfy the betting interest. Fulham's Harry Wilson is not necessarily assured of a start but he has provided 3 assists in the last 4 Fulham matches and must be knocking on the door. Trippier is suspended for Newcastle further weakening a defence that is missing other first choice players and hopefully Wilson can feature again here.

In the anytime goalscorer market Alex Iwobi who has been getting plenty of minutes recently gets the vote

Bets: Player assists Harry Wilson 1 or more at 52/10 with Betway

Anytime goalscorer Iwobi at 48/10 with Betway
