Football ManCity120The first Manchester derby of the English Premier League season takes place at Old Trafford on Sunday and we take a look at whole host of betting markets for United vs City

Man United

Although United have won 3 of their last 4 EPL matches the manner of their victories has been less than convincing, single goal margin wins at Burnley, at home to Brentford and away to Sheffield United and their penultimate home game saw them go down 1-0 to Palace. United's overall record in the EPL comprises of 5 wins and 4 defeats, at Old Trafford they have won 3 and lost 2. Their only games against current top 4 clubs saw them beaten at Spurs (2-0) and Arsenal (3-1).

In midweek United were 1-0 winners at home to FC Copenhagen in the UCL, a much needed win after they lost their first 2 group matches at Bayern and at home to Galatasaray.

Man City

Coming into the weekend program City share second spot with Arsenal, 2 points behind league leaders Spurs who visit Palace on Friday night. City bounced back from successive league defeats at Wolves and Arsenal with a 2-1 home win over Brighton last weekend and their record now comprises of 7 wins and 2 defeats.

City won 3-1 at Young boys in the UCL in midweek to maintain their 100% record in the group stage and qualification for the last 16 now looks a formality.

Recent Head to Head

This fixture finished 2-1 to United last season after City had won the first derby 6-3 at the Etihad. City also beat United 2-1 in the FA Cup Final at Wembley.

The Betting

At the time of writing United are trading at 3.86/1 to win the game with the draw priced at 3/1 and City can be backed at around 7/10

A game of 3 goals or more is priced at 7/10 and it's the same price for both teams to score

Haaland is 2.63/1 to score the first goal of the game and 0.77/1 to score anytime

Rasmus Hojland is 81/10 to score the first goal of the game and 31/10 to score anytime

A total corner count of 10 or more is 0.82/1

The Verdict:

City appear to be back on track after defeats at Wolves and Arsenal and although their price to win the game is skinny enough, I'll go with away win and over 2.5 goals .

In the the goalscorer markets the price for Julian Alvarez, who has been in top form this season, to pop up anytime looked reasonable enough.

Bets: Away win and over 2.5 total goals? (yes) at 1.35/1 with Playabets
